Every once in a while, a set­ting or place becomes such a strong third char­ac­ter in the sto­ry that its pres­ence is felt through­out the entire piece. Such is the case for Tanya and Michael’s wed­ding film, where the breath­tak­ing land­scapes of Huntsville, Ontario helped estab­lish and con­nect the dif­fer­ent ele­ments in this beau­ti­ful narrative.

When we first start­ed tak­ing to T + M about wed­ding videog­ra­phy over a year and a half ago, they men­tioned Deer­hurst Resort was a place that was dear to their heart. So nat­u­ral­ly, Michael got ready at the resort, Tanya spent the morn­ing at their cot­tage on the Deer­hurst grounds, and the evening con­clud­ed at one of the resort’s ball­rooms, over­look­ing the scenic wilder­ness and glassy waters of Penin­su­la Lake.

The cin­e­matog­ra­phy itself is a care­ful bal­ance of still estab­lish­ing shots, soar­ing drone shots, slow-motion action, and con­trolled gym­bal track­ing shots, cul­mi­nat­ing in a fire­works and first dance sequence using slow-motion and fire­work overlays.

Come for the jaw-dropping nature, stay for the heart-warming chore­o­graphed first dance. 🦌
