Every once in a while, a setting or place becomes such a strong third character in the story that its presence is felt throughout the entire piece. Such is the case for Tanya and Michael’s wedding film, where the breathtaking landscapes of Huntsville, Ontario helped establish and connect the different elements in this beautiful narrative.
When we first started taking to T + M about wedding videography over a year and a half ago, they mentioned Deerhurst Resort was a place that was dear to their heart. So naturally, Michael got ready at the resort, Tanya spent the morning at their cottage on the Deerhurst grounds, and the evening concluded at one of the resort’s ballrooms, overlooking the scenic wilderness and glassy waters of Peninsula Lake.
The cinematography itself is a careful balance of still establishing shots, soaring drone shots, slow-motion action, and controlled gymbal tracking shots, culminating in a fireworks and first dance sequence using slow-motion and firework overlays.
Come for the jaw-dropping nature, stay for the heart-warming choreographed first dance. 🦌
