This is one of those perfect stories whose themes are so strong that all the pieces just fall into place effortlessly. Grace and Brett met and fell in love at the Taylor Statten camps on Lake Canoe in Algonquin Park and, six years later, they brought their loved ones to this very site for a weekend-long wedding celebration. And while this setting is important to their narrative, it speaks on a grander scale of who they are individually and together.
Nature is a huge part of Grace and Brett and one that they’ve embraced as a couple. Hiking, skiing, adventuring, exploring are but a few of the words that come up so commonly in conversation with them. Their wedding day clearly reflects these shared core values, kicking off with an intense canoe race around the lake and through the campgrounds (yes, there was a portage in which guests actually carried the canoes on their backs), leading to one of the most epic first look journeys we’ve ever filmed (it involved multiple boats, islands, impromptu dressings, and more hiking, naturally) and one of the most heartfelt ceremonies we’ve ever been a part of, ending with a beautiful sunset over the lake and a lively celebration in the main cabin.
That convoluted run-on sentence doesn’t even come close to doing their film justice. So hit the play button and enjoy!
