This is one of those per­fect sto­ries whose themes are so strong that all the pieces just fall into place effort­less­ly. Grace and Brett met and fell in love at the Tay­lor Stat­ten camps on Lake Canoe in Algo­nquin Park and, six years lat­er, they brought their loved ones to this very site for a weekend-long wed­ding cel­e­bra­tion. And while this set­ting is impor­tant to their nar­ra­tive, it speaks on a grander scale of who they are indi­vid­u­al­ly and together.

Nature is a huge part of Grace and Brett and one that they’ve embraced as a cou­ple. Hik­ing, ski­ing, adven­tur­ing, explor­ing are but a few of the words that come up so com­mon­ly in con­ver­sa­tion with them. Their wed­ding day clear­ly reflects these shared core val­ues, kick­ing off with an intense canoe race around the lake and through the camp­grounds (yes, there was a portage in which guests actu­al­ly car­ried the canoes on their backs), lead­ing to one of the most epic first look jour­neys we’ve ever filmed (it involved mul­ti­ple boats, islands, impromp­tu dress­ings, and more hik­ing, nat­u­ral­ly) and one of the most heart­felt cer­e­monies we’ve ever been a part of, end­ing with a beau­ti­ful sun­set over the lake and a live­ly cel­e­bra­tion in the main cabin.
