PAUSE<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

We pause for many rea\u00adsons: to lis\u00adten, to reflect, to revere, to be present. We pause for lit\u00adtle things \u2014 like cross\u00ading the street \u2014 and big things \u2014 like tak\u00ading time away from our busy sched\u00adules to cel\u00ade\u00adbrate hol\u00adi\u00addays and spe\u00adcial occa\u00adsions. For the past year, we\u2019ve had to pause for our safe\u00adty and pause became a per\u00adpet\u00adu\u00adal part of every day life. Each of us have had our own set of com\u00adpro\u00admis\u00ades, dis\u00adap\u00adpoint\u00adments, and hard\u00adships and we had to find new ways to embrace this state of being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Play<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The oppo\u00adsite of pause. Life in motion. This is how we learn; how we move for\u00adward; how we relate to one anoth\u00ader. Great moments, big ideas, and beau\u00adti\u00adful con\u00adnec\u00adtions are all born out of play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a busi\u00adness, and as a cou\u00adple, we like every\u00adone else have nav\u00adi\u00adgat\u00aded the ebb and flow of the pan\u00addem\u00adic. We are grate\u00adful for the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties that have come our way and the tal\u00adent\u00aded peo\u00adple we have built rela\u00adtion\u00adships with (albeit behind masks or video calls). One project in par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar has us all in our feel\u00adings today reflect\u00ading on these states of pause and play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel and Lorne<\/a> are wed\u00adding clients turned friends. We had an instant con\u00adnec\u00adtion years ago and it remains to this day. They are good com\u00adpa\u00adny. Just before the pan\u00addem\u00adic hit they reached out to us to doc\u00adu\u00adment the birth of their first child. We were hon\u00adoured (of course) but a lit\u00adtle hes\u00adi\u00adtant. It was new ter\u00adri\u00adto\u00adry for us and between logis\u00adtics (being avail\u00adable to film a birth at a moment\u2019s notice dur\u00ading wed\u00adding sea\u00adson) and our tran\u00adsi\u00adtion into more com\u00admer\u00adcial work, it just didn\u2019t seem to fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But we also couldn\u2019t envi\u00adsion any\u00adone else cap\u00adtur\u00ading this moment in their lives. We knew them. We knew their fam\u00adi\u00adlies. We knew we could cre\u00adate a very spe\u00adcial piece. What we didn\u2019t know was how much the scope of the project would change and how much it would mean to us personally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a ses\u00adsion before baby Riley was born, one a few months lat\u00ader, and anoth\u00ader for her first birth\u00adday. Due to the pan\u00addem\u00adic (everyone\u2019s 4 fav words), Rachel and Lorne were respon\u00adsi\u00adble for doc\u00adu\u00adment\u00ading the birth itself and the months in between to fill in the gaps. They did a phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adnal job and the result is a beau\u00adti\u00adful cap\u00adture of a year in one family\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
