As you make your way through our body of work, you\u2019ll like\u00adly pick up on just how impor\u00adtant of a role music plays in each piece we put togeth\u00ader. It\u2019s some\u00adthing we get asked about almost as often as our colour grad\u00ading or our lens choic\u00ades, and we think that\u2019s because we tend to make bold choic\u00ades across our projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t want to make wed\u00adding films<\/em>, we sim\u00adply want to make films.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve said it before: we don\u2019t want to make wed\u00adding films<\/em>, we sim\u00adply want to make films<\/a>. We don\u2019t want to make a com\u00admer\u00adcial video recy\u00adcling the lat\u00adest Tik\u00adTok trend, we want to make impact\u00adful cam\u00adpaigns<\/a>. That\u2019s a core val\u00adue that informs every aspect of our work, but when it comes to music selec\u00adtion, it requires us to stay proac\u00adtive in a few ways that make a mean\u00ading\u00adful impact on the fin\u00adished prod\u00aduct. It means scour\u00ading The Music Bed<\/a> for the best tracks\/hidden gems and cat\u00ada\u00adlogu\u00ading them for future use (always keep\u00ading an open mind and look\u00ading for songs that stand out against the rest), cut\u00adting each shot to the beat when edit\u00ading, and allow\u00ading the nar\u00adra\u00adtive to play off of the ris\u00ades and falls of the song and vice ver\u00adsa. The search for the per\u00adfect track is def\u00adi\u00adnite\u00adly a lengthy yet reward\u00ading process which is ulti\u00admate\u00adly guid\u00aded by instinct \u2014 when you find it, you know it almost instant\u00adly and the project is well on its way to com\u00ading together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can imag\u00adine, then, the pres\u00adsure we felt to find the per\u00adfect song to tell Bindia + Jonathan\u2019s sto\u00adry. While it was clear on the day that music was an impor\u00adtant part of their rela\u00adtion\u00adship \u2014 and that we vibed on pret\u00adty much all the same artists and songs as them \u2014 hear\u00ading Jonathan\u2019s speech real\u00adly brought the theme home. Our task became to not only find a com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtion of songs that reflect\u00aded the mood of the day, but one that also played with\u00adin the frame\u00adwork of the music they enjoy togeth\u00ader and the artists that played a key role in their togeth\u00ader\u00adness. The result is a mix of R&B, down\u00adtem\u00adpo Hip Hop and post-dubstep Elec\u00adtron\u00adic rhythms that per\u00adfect\u00adly com\u00adpli\u00adment their nar\u00adra\u00adtive with\u00adout dis\u00adtract\u00ading from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can\u2019t think of a bet\u00adter way to close 2021 than with this film and its front-to-back epic\u00adness. Enjoy \u270c\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
