That\u2019s because their day was sim\u00adply ooz\u00ading with per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty and every\u00adthing just came togeth\u00ader in a way that&nbsp; allowed us to cre\u00adate a per\u00adfect por\u00adtrait of who these two real\u00adly&nbsp;are.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll start from the top. We first met Melis\u00adsa and Steve this past win\u00adter. They\u2019re wed\u00adding cin\u00ade\u00admatog\u00adra\u00adphers them\u00adselves and so we imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly hit it off over cof\u00adfee; talk\u00ading about our jobs, our indus\u00adtry, and our favourite films of the past year. We\u2019d see them at Tiff Bell Light\u00adbox on our way to catch a movie, we\u2019d see Steve on Queen St. West, then Melis\u00adsa in Zara a cou\u00adple of hours lat\u00ader. See\u00ading them walk about the city, we real\u00adized what an inte\u00adgral part of them Toron\u00adto has become, and all the walk\u00ading around and quick loca\u00adtion changes on the wed\u00adding day took on a much deep\u00ader mean\u00ading with\u00adin their film. Now we love our cof\u00adfee, and we have friends who are cof\u00adfee fanat\u00adics, but no one real\u00adly loves cof\u00adfee as much as Melis\u00adsa and Steve. They went on and on about the dif\u00adfer\u00adent types of cof\u00adfee they reg\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly drink and the dif\u00adfer\u00adent ways they make it. Steve men\u00adtioned that him and his grooms\u00admen would be head\u00ading to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EarlyBirdBrew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ear\u00adly Bird<\/a> in the morn\u00ading to have siphon cof\u00adfee and explained what exact\u00adly that was. We prob\u00ada\u00adbly vis\u00adit\u00aded the Thomp\u00adson rooftop on three sep\u00ada\u00adrate occa\u00adsions shot list\u00ading, test\u00ading light and prepar\u00ading for what was going to be an incred\u00adi\u00adbly emo\u00adtion\u00adal first look. We had every\u00adthing planned to a t and were lucky to find that con\u00adstruc\u00adtion was keep\u00ading the rooftop emp\u00adty and pri\u00advate for Melis\u00adsa and Steve. Well, it just so hap\u00adpened that the rooftop con\u00adstruc\u00adtion wrapped the day before the wed\u00adding and Melis\u00adsa and Steve\u2019s big day was also the first day that the pool was open to the pub\u00adlic. It was may\u00adhem up there, and the orig\u00adi\u00adnal loca\u00adtion was a no-go, but it was so impor\u00adtant to them to have the first look up there that we adjust\u00aded our plans to a dif\u00adfer\u00adent part of the rooftop that was a lit\u00adtle more pri\u00advate and car\u00adried on. We men\u00adtioned it had\u00adn\u2019t crossed our minds yet, since we had\u00adn\u2019t met a cou\u00adple whose sto\u00adry called for a wider aspect ratio. Just like with Super 8mm which can be some\u00adwhat overused with no spe\u00adcif\u00adic story-driven rea\u00adson, we would\u00adn\u2019t want to make a film wider just for the sake of it.
