FAQ

A list of frequently asked questions from couples, planners and fans alike.

What's your approach to wedding cinematography?

Our style is a blend of documentary and editorial. Our couples are at the heart of each of our wedding films and every creative decision we make — from the gear we use to music selection, from pacing to narrative structure — is inspired by their personality and shared story. This ensures that each work we create is a unique standalone piece that is a true representation of the celebrations we are a part of. We like to capture our couples candidly and naturally enjoying their day while providing the smallest bit of direction.

We've got your back and will make sure you look damn fine.

Is there a waitlist?

While there isn't an official "wait list", as a boutique wedding videography studio, we take a limited number of weddings each season in order to fully dedicate ourselves to each of our couple's films. We accept bookings anywhere from one to two years in advance, so it's never too early to reach out and get started!

Do you travel?

Yes! While we call Toronto home, we are available to shoot worldwide. In addition to the cost of your chosen collection, destination weddings are subject to travel expenses such as flights, accommodations, meals, and transportation, as well as a fixed travel rate (this rate includes our additional time spent traveling to your destination).

What's the difference between wedding cinematography and wedding videography?

You've probably come across the two terms in your search and might be wondering the difference between the two.

This was a much bigger issue many years ago when the terminology distinguished creatives using tools like colour theory, lighting, and sound to tell a cohesive story with professional filmmaking equipment (cinematographers) and those who simply point a camera at a moment to capture it (videographers). But in recent years, the definition has become a lot less strict as more creatives embrace the Google-friendly and more searchable "wedding videographer".

While we have always viewed ourselves as cinematographers, the truth is, both terms are used interchangeably and we feel our work communicates our attention to detail and dedication to our craft better than any catch-all phrase.

I spy some footage that couldn't have possibly been shot on the wedding day. What's that about?

You've probably seen some plane-flying, wakeboarding, charcuterie board-making and/or alma mater strolling in some of the films in our portfolio. We call these portrait shoots and they typically involve us capturing the essence of who you are as a couple through a little candid activity and the retelling of your story thus far. A portrait shoot can be added to any of our wedding videography packages and can be scheduled up to two weeks before the wedding date.

How many hours do your packages include?

All of our wedding cinematography packages include up to 10 consecutive hours of coverage. This is the amount of time we typically need to tell your full wedding story — from your morning preparations through to the party. That being said, you can always add additional hours of coverage if your wedding day requires it.

What kind of gear do you use?

We have a lot of exciting production equipment in our toolbox. And while we could go on and on about how we shoot on Canon's elite line of Netflix-approved cinema cameras, how we use the best L series lenses, how our gimbal setup has jaws dropping everywhere we go, how even our sd cards are Sony's luxurious Tough line of professional memory, and how we have backups for every piece of equipment we own, we think our wedding films speak for themselves. Don't they look swell?

When can I expect my wedding film?

Our wedding collections are delivered within 120 days from the wedding date, while the first wedding short is ready within 30 days.We also offer an express delivery option to have your wedding collection ready within 30 days.

How will it be delivered?

Our wedding collections are delivered on a custom USB including all of your edits, while our content creation packages are delivered online.

Do I choose the music for my wedding film?

We like to think of the music in our films as more of a score than anything else. It establishes the mood of the piece; it rises and swells when the narrative is exciting and takes a step back when we want the story to come to the foreground. Like every other element in our films, track selection is inspired by our couples, their personalities and how their day comes to life. Using copyrighted music in any creative project is illegal so we license all of our scores through The Music Bed — let us know if anything on their expansive catalogue tickles your earbuds.
