With an epic, multi-day cel­e­bra­tion cul­mi­nat­ing in an inti­mate recep­tion with­in the cas­tle halls of Casa Loma in Toron­to, we had no short­age of incred­i­ble imagery to work with for Ram­neek + Jon’s wed­ding film. 

We’ve talked about the grandios­i­ty of South Asian wed­dings before and how we choose to tack­le them dif­fer­ent­ly. You see, across the dif­fer­ent days, cer­e­monies and per­for­mances, the final piece can quick­ly become about show­ing the “larger-than-life” cel­e­bra­tion instead of craft­ing a nar­ra­tive around the cou­ple. And while the vibrant colours, out­fit changes and cul­tur­al tra­di­tions of Indi­an wed­dings are def­i­nite­ly inspir­ing aspects for any wed­ding cin­e­matog­ra­ph­er, we find that keep­ing our cou­ples at the heart of the sto­ry the key to mak­ing a great video with a last­ing impression.

Luck­i­ly for us, Ram­neek and Jon shared that exact same sen­ti­ment. They pri­or­i­tized the qui­et moments with one anoth­er and worked in plen­ty of por­trait oppor­tu­ni­ties through­out their entire cel­e­bra­tion. Thus, their final piece bal­ances these still moments with the pal­pa­ble ener­gy and excite­ment of their fam­i­ly and friends. Hav­ing post­poned their orig­i­nal date, there was a lot of the latter.

And while we’re no strangers to Casa Loma and have cap­tured some of our favourite sto­ries there, this was our first time shoot­ing in their stun­ning library which was the icing on the cake for us.

We always say it takes a vil­lage to make a great wed­ding and this was no excep­tion. A very spe­cial shoutout to Isha Events Co. for putting it all togeth­er and to Amrit Pho­tog­ra­phy who we so seam­less­ly worked with through­out the entire event (seri­ous­ly love this team).
